Sinopec To Build World's Largest Resin Factory

Nanning, March 2nd, 2011 – China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) will form a composite material resin factory in Nanjing with Royal DSM N.V. Royal DSM will have a 75-percent stake in the new factory and Sinopec will own the remaining 25 percent stake.

The factory has a capacity of 100,000 tons and starts construction in second quarter 2011. Once completed in first quarter 2012 the factory will be the largest composite material resin factory in the world.

According to institutional estimates, demand for composite material resin will grow from one million tons in 2010 to 1.7 million tons over the next five years. - CapitalVue
